TAKS Math Preparation for Grades 6 - 12
How Does It Work?
Papers
  • When you begin, you will receive an instruction manual which explains how you and your students can access and use the program.
  • Each student begins by taking a pre-test (over all the objectives) to determine what they already know and which areas they need to work on.
  • The academic content is broken down by TAKS objective. Each objective contains lessons, exercises, and an objective test. When a passing grade is made on the objective test, that objective is complete.
  • When all the objectives are complete, the student takes a post-test over all the objectives. If they pass the post-test then the program is complete.
  • As a student works on the program, all of their data is saved. The teacher can view reports that show the grades made by each student or they can view a report which provides summary statistics about all their students. In addition, teachers can compare their students performance against other students in their school.
Why Does It Work? spreadsheet
  • Students can work on the program at home, school, the library or wherever they have access to the Internet (does not require access to a computer lab).
  • Students can work at their own pace and focus on the areas that are giving them trouble.
  • All the lessons and exercises are aligned with the mathematics TEKS. Texas Web Tutor covers every expectation that will be tested on the math TAKS.
  • Students receive immediate feedback. Texas Web Tutor instantly grades and records all student work.
  • All the questions are written by Texas certified math teachers and are similar in content and style to what would be found on the actual math TAKS.
  • Provides the teacher with real-time reports which will track and profile their student's progress.
More Features: computer
  • Automatically adjusts math content to the grade level of the student.
  • All exercises and tests are randomly created from a question bank of over 750 questions. The questions and answer choices are randomly determined, so an exercise/test is different each time it is selected.
  • Partially completed exercises/tests can be saved and completed later.
  • Teachers can customize their testing preferences including the number of times a test can be re-taken and the minimum grade required to complete an objective.
  • Facilitates online communication between the teacher and students.
  • Simple and intuitive user interface.
  • Completely Web-based. There is no software to download or install.
